Learn to carve a wooden kitchen spatula in this introduction to the world of Slöjd, or Swedish handcraft. This class will focus on safe and efficient knife grips, understanding grain direction, and decorative techniques like chip carving and kolrosing. 

All students will be given two pre-axed spatula blanks.  Loaner tools will be available, though Slöjd knives (Mora 106 and 120) will also be for sale.  If you have your own tools, by all means bring them. 

No experience necessary, and so long as you can easily open a jar of spaghetti sauce, you have sufficient hand strength.
