Tinkerhaus Crowdfunder 2020

Tinkerhaus Community Makerspace is competing for a Mass Development Collaborative Workspace Program grant. Our space needs retrofitting with safety equipment and technology to remain a safe place to work and learn during this crisis.

What We Need from You

We need to match every dollar that comes in the grant with contributions of money, products or services. We are starting with money here, but please contact us if you have something else to offer.

More About Tinkerhaus

Since our beginnings in the Fall of 2018 we have helped over 100 of our neighbors learn new skills. We have hosted 20 different teachers to teach skills. We have provided hundreds of hours of child and youth creative programming.

We have taught people to sew masks. We have provided space for workers to use tools while remaining isolated. We have provided online and outdoor art experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic and we are providing studio spaces to college students who have lost the use of their school's physical space.

What we have NOT been able to do is : create instructional videos, accommodate the three requests we had to print prototypes of inventions with our outdated 3D printers, expand the offerings to include digital design equipment.

What we WANT to do is: enhance the abilities of our clients to create more accurate, more efficiently cut pieces of all materials; wood, laminates, fabric. We want to be able to keep as much onsite work happening as possible with better air filtration, dust collection and sanitization. We want to be more nimble with online instruction if closures reoccur this winter. We want to survive. NONE of our operating costs have gone down but our revenue has slowed to a trickle.

If you are wondering who our clients are, they are you! They are people of all ages, all skill levels, all races, income levels and interest groups. If you haven't come to check us out yet, we wish you would! If you already know us, please tell your friends and family what we offer.
