Creating Beneficial Insect Habitat + Bee Nesting Blocks Workshop with Aaron Parker

Beneficial insects perform a myriad of ecosystem services around us, the most visible being pollinating flowers and controlling pest insects, but they also eat weed seeds, aerate soil and numerous other tasks that are essential to a healthy ecosystem.

In this class we will talk about planting, managing and creating for optimum beneficial insect habitat. We will cover what plant families and species are most helpful to plant, how to manage them for maximum habitat potential and wrap up by creating our own native bee nesting blocks and bundles, all from recycled materials!

Each person will go home with minimum one block and one bundle, but if time and materials allow you could make several. These blocks and bundles make nice gifts for insect/ ecology minded friends and family. If you have an electric drill or hand pruners please bring them along, tools will also be provided.

Cost is $25
